Mac Attack!

Just a quick little update on Mac. Still growing, learning more everyday and thinking she is funnier by the minute. Mac has finally been able to figure out how to roll from her back to her tummy (been trying for a couple weeks but couldn't figure out how to move her arm from underneath her.) YAY! , and is working on trying different fruits and veggies! Enjoying every minute of watching her grow and learn...

Life is Precious

Last week Mac and I both got to take a trip to Colorado for both of our first times EVER, and I never want to go for that reason EVER again. Mac and I were napping together last Wednesday afternoon, and while we were napping I was woke up by a phone call, it was my sisters friend Abby..I thought it was just my sister and her calling because they were bored....so I ignored and went back to my cozy nap with Mac. When I woke up I had a message saying they couldn't get a hold of my mom and that my sister had been in a bicycle accident. So I called Abby back to make sure they got a hold of my mom, and then Abby told me that they were in the ER, and that "Stephs face went into a cement wall". So I called my mom and talk to her, and she had talked to Abby's Mom and they (ER drs) that all my Sis' injuries were superficial. (My Sis was in Colorado camping with Abby and Abby's Family). Got a text from Abby saying that they were doing a CAT Scan to make sure everything was ok. I was talking to my mom and she said if Steph had to stay over night she was going up there, I told her I Mac and I would go with. We thought everything was going to be ok.....

The Next phone call wasn't what I was expecting. My mom called me and told me that we had to go to Colorado. That my Sis had a fracture in her skull, in her cheek, and a partial collapsed lung...I starting freaking out and told my Mom I would be to Abilene as soon as I could. We didn't know to much else except that they were transporting her to a Denver Children's Hospital, and the doctor told my mom that if it was his daughter thats where he would want her. So after I frantically packed what I we needed(not knowing how long we would be there or anything), Mitch drove Mac and I to my Moms. We met my Dad in Hays, and he drove us the rest of the way. It was a very long and awkward car ride... (I just wanted to see my Sis, and my parents in the same car was really weird).*I must add in here that Mac was amazing in the car and the WHOLE trip*

We finally got there, and My Sis was still up there with a Nurse in her room, and Abby and Her Mom, stayed with her until we got there. :) After we talk to my for a few(And found out the story...was going down a bike path (which went under an underpass) and she lost control of the bike and went face first into the cement wall...wasn't wearing a helmet but hard to say if that would of even helped considering on where she hit her head) we all hit the hay...We all crashed in the hospital. They had a little pull out bed my mom, Mac and I shared, and My dad slept in the recliner. Steph had to stay in the hospital for 2 nights. (part of the reason being that she wasn't able to eat until late Thursday because they were waiting on Lab work to make sure she wasn't bleeding anywhere internally) My Sis finally injuries were a fracture in her right cheek bone, a fracture in her skull right behind her right ear, 2 of the 3 bones in her right ear were broken off(causing hearing loss, may need surgery (wont know until her 6 week follow up) if the bones don't connect back on there own), 7 stitches in her right knee, a partial collapsed lung, scraps and bruises everywhere.

Mac did amazing, and it was definitely a very long two days. Mac did get her very first wagon ride in the hospital. My Sis' has been pretty sore, but is looking better and better everyday! I am so thankfully and so lucky/blessed she is going to be OK and is still with us!  I was so scared. Stephanie is truly the best little sister around and I would be so lost without one of my Best Friends. *My next trip to Colorado will be more fun*

Mac's 4 Months Old Today...

My Mac Attack turned 4 Months old Today...My does time go by fast. Life with my Mac is Amazing. I had a great birthday, and we had a great 4th. We didn't do Much yesterday! We took a couple naps, had pizza for lunch, filled up Mac's new little pink pool, and took her "swimming" for the first time, Went over to a friends house and watched fireworks and had a little BBQ. Mac did great with the fireworks, they didn't bother her at all, sometimes she would jump, but then she would look around trying to find where it came from. Mac really fought going to sleep, but once she was out...she was out! :) Mac also had her 4 month appointment on Tuesday, and doctor said she looked great! 24 3/4 inches, and 14lbs and 13oz. 70s percentile on all!!! :)

Mac and I just hung out today..bought Daddy lunch to work (he is running the shop by himself, since Grandpa Doug is out of town.), painted her toes, and went swimming again. Mac loves the pool, she has a blast splashing around. Here's some pictures from this week and last! :)
