After we got Married Mitch and I tried for 6 months to get pregnant and weren't having any luck so I gave up. I got in better shape and then we tried again... and this time we got pregnant right away.. but sad to say we lost our baby. I was having problems..went in to have a sonogram at 6 weeks and everything looked ok, but it was hard to see the heartbeat still so the doctor wanted another sonogram. At 8 weeks we went in and I had miscarried. The baby was only 6 weeks and 2 days. My body hadn't naturally miscarried so I had a D n C. Mitch and I were devastated. I tried moving forward and kept telling myself that everything happens for a reason. My mom and I decided that the grandparents in heaven needed a grandbaby first! Still to this day its so hard, but its our first little angel, and I know "its" being taken care by all our angels.
Mitch and I got pregnant again 3 months later, and we couldn't been more excited. Needless to say, I was excited but scared, didn't want to get to excited in case something bad happened. My Ob doctor is Amazing and did an ultrasound for me at 6 weeks and 8 weeks so I could feel better about everything. And everything looked great! I had such an easy and amazing pregnancy with Michaela. I had a feeling we were having a little girl from the get go. I had a dream one day after I found out I was pregnant that I was shopping with a little girl. Sure enough at our 20 weeks ultra sound I was right. :) Mitch and I didn't care either way. We have had names picked out forever. Michaela Ann was just a name we loved, and if we would had a boy it would of been Timothy Mitchell (Timothy being after Mitch's dad)...still will be our first boys name.
Everything went great for us. We had a 3D ultra sound done, My Mom, Sister, and Mom in Law came with. Michaela has been stubborn since day one.. she wouldn't let us see her whole face. They tried everything they could to get her to turn but she wouldn't. :) I worked out my whole pregnancy and was still able to take Chopper on his daily 2 miles walks. I had crazy cravings when I was pregnant...lots of stuff I never ate when I wasn't pregnant..and stuff I ate before never sounded good. Everyday my Amazing Husband brought me a 44oz Dr Pepper and bag of chips for lunch! My other cravings was Candy...a different kind every couple weeks (Andes mints, Snickers, Milk Ways, Hersey Nuggets, Twix). Towards the last two Months, it was Chocolate Milk and Chocolate Ice Cream...Mitch and I always had a date at about 2 in the Morning when we woke up off of the couch for ice cream and chocolate milk in bed: ). The last 2 months of my pregnancy were miserable, I couldn't breath, everything hurt...ya da ya da. Mitch and My mom made me tell the doctor at my 38 week appointment that I couldn't work anymore...taking care of old people gets kinda hard with a big old belly and an extra 30lbs. So, at my 38 weeks appointment we talked with Dr. Priddle and decided to induce me the following week. He told me that they would call me the next day schedule my appointment. So I anxiously waited for them to call and give me a date...thinking that it would be later in the next week. When they called they said they were full next week unless we wanted to do Sunday... I was like this Sunday..(its Wednesday now)..The lady was like ya, unless you want to go wait and go into labor on your own....I was like I'll take...Now I had every emotion ever going through me! It was crazy. I was so scared about being a mom, and the whole delivery process, but at the same time I was excited, and happy and everything else.
We went and got my little Sister (Steph) that Friday so Sunday she could hang out with Chopper most of the day. We got to the Hospital at 7:00am on March 4th. Got checked in, got my iv going, pitocin going, now I was just waiting on the doctor to come break my water and check me. At my last appointment I was like 1/2 dilated and 75% effaced. Dr. Priddle came in at like 10, broke my water (really weird feeling), I was barely a 1. (He also had another patient he induced that morning). He told me that if he had to bet he picked me first to have the baby, I felt more "ready". The nurse I had that morning, said Dr. Priddle is almost never wrong.
Mom and Steph had came a bugged us for a little while. Then left! (They live in Abilene and stayed in town all day waiting for Princess; kicked my mom out to drive home and let her dogs out and stuff to come back) I had gotten my epidural around 2, I couldn't take it anymore, I wasn't getting but 30 secs between contracts and they had already made me throw up. ....The Nurse told me she would check me about 4. When she checked me...I had barely made any progress and was at a 4...and stayed there until forever...and mean while they had already had shift change at 6 and they told me the other girl had already started pushing...:( Dr. Priddle Jinxed us. So after Dr. delivered her baby he came and checked me (Mitch was going to tell him he jinxed us when he walked in), and the first thing he said when he came in was I jinxed you guys I am sorry..haha....anyways when he checked me about 10, I was finally a 7...he stretched me to an 8...still had a little ways to go. I was starving..and tired and I hurt! haha. I had so many great friends and family that texted me and keep me and Mitch company all day.. we brought our lap top and watched some movies too. Steph had fun keeping me and Mitch company, doing vending machine runs, and messing around in the delivery room.
Even the Amazing nurse we had couldn't believe I wasn't dilating she had another nurse come and make sure she was "reading" me right. haha. I was determined Michaela was never coming out. I won't forget when she checked me about midnight and said I was a ten, and the exact words out of Mitch's mouth was "Did you Just say she was at a 10" haha. :) I pushed for 3 hours before they went and called the doctor in...and when he came in, he told me he suggested using the suction thing on her...so I wouldn't need a c-section. I pushed 2 sets of 4 and She was FINALLY here. I couldn't believe it! :) Michaela was perfect...even with her little cone head!
Born at 3:40 am...(21 hours in labor) 20 inches long, and weighing in at 8lbs 2oz. Dr. Priddle said it was a good thing I had her early cause she would of been a big baby other wise! My Wonderful Sister and Mom stayed the whole time, and Mitch's Mom came up and finally got to see her about 4:00 or so. Giving birth was such an amazing feeling and experience, can't wait to do it again!
